“Claude, I know insistently snooping is sorta your thing, but maybe you should take it easy this time!” Hilda shouts from somewhere behind him. Giving a cheeky smile and wink Claude calls back to her rapidly shrinking profile, putting as much volume behind his voice as he could muster as he finally reaches the top of the stairs.
“And owe you another favor next time I need some juicy gossip? I’m already drowning in crippling debt Hilda, I won't be able to handle anymore- OOF.” His quip abruptly gets cut off as he walks face-first into what seemingly feels like a hard wall.
Or more like the hard wall walks into him, Claude belatedly realizes, as his arms are immediately seized in a vice-like grip to halt his fall and simultaneously squish his face into the offending surface.'Maybe not a wall' his brain slowly comes to a slow comprehension a second later, hands splaying flat and searching against sleek metal and warm leather and OH-

Summary

Summary
Claude is both cute and pathetic struggling to hold back shivers, not that Dimitri would ever say either of those things to his face. Due to mysterious reasons Claude refuses to elaborate on, the archer has no tent and nothing but a jacket to keep him warm. Dimitri refuses to let Claude suffer alone through the rainy night.
Luckily, his sleeping bag is big enough for the both of them. It's nostalgic for Dimitri. Most Faerghan children spend the snowbound months sleeping together for warmth. He didn't realize how much he missed the companionship of his childhood until he had Claude shivering in his arms.
There's nothing weird about friends cuddling for warmth (even though Dimitri's not cold at all). It's... it's nice. Really nice. Nice enough to turn it into a habit.
