It was clear from day one that Ichi's absence from the Arakawa Family would be detrimental- not so much for the organization, but for Arakawa himself. Despite as much, Sawashiro was convinced his boss was capable of dealing with his imprisonment. After all, they had dealt with worse, and it wasn't as though his incarceration was for nothing.
Apparently, a sudden call from Mitsu would let him know he couldn't have been more wrong if he tried.

Daigo always knew running the Tojo Clan would never be easy, it's why he made every attempt to dodge such a responsibility. With the latest disaster only now starting to fade from Kamurocho's memory, the inadequacy he felt only exemplified: he should have never been given this position. For years, the men he was supposed to look after had discouraged his election, dubbing him too immature and naive to run the Clan. It was hard to find anyone to understand him- it was hard to find any breath of fresh air in such a suffocating ocean of discord, leaving him to wonder if there was any point to continuing down this path.
Though, once he realized the buoy of his woes took the form of his troublesome ex, perhaps he would have preferred to just drown in the murky water. Instead, he was left with the unfortunate reality that Ryo Aoki had a remarkable way with words and making him feel understood. He would struggle to remember it was never a good thing when Aoki was playing nice...

Summary
Ichiban fucks up. A lot- in Sawashiro's eyes, anyhow. How could it be that one mistake on his part would mean Sawashiro would be forced to encounter not only his past, but see just how his irresponsibility wrecked someone else's life?
It wasn't going to be easy, not when that someone was asking him to kill her to pay back the debt she borrowed from the Arakawa Family.

However, apparently he'd done too fine of a job gaining the senior Arakawa's trust and respect in the process: what would seem like a dream and perfect opportunity to some could only promise an awkward evening for Sawashiro as he was given the important task of babysitting Masato. By himself. When he had no experience whatsoever with children on his own.
But if Arakawa appeared to have enough faith in him, then what reason did he have to doubt himself? Plenty, really.

Summary
The civvie son of a prominent yakuza boss and the thuggish son of a dead, notorious yakuza boss get together. What's the worst that could happen? Ichiban doesn't think much, but Sawashiro anticipates the worse.
Meanwhile, Daigo can't be bothered to enjoy the cabaret's assault on his senses, and the liquor isn't helping. Even if Masato dragged him out to the place tonight, he at least had some decency to try and make it bearable for him. Tries to, anyway.

Daigo knew Yoshitaka Mine for a plethora of things, his punctuality and efficiency being just a few. Yet apparently even he seemed to struggle having one-on-one meetings with his chairman- when the goals of such 'meetings' were in pursuits of debauchery, anyhow.

Summary
One's an incident and two's a coincidence- but Daigo wasn't too much of a fan of having to coincidentally running into Mine the first time, and he certainly wasn't happy to see him again the second.
What's more, they were seemingly doomed to only ever run into each other on overcrowded subway rides, barely given enough wiggle room to breathe this time. Though perhaps this recent meeting wouldn't go as sourly as they imagined.

When it came to resolving conflicts within the Tojo, Mine and Daigo were pressed to see eye-to-eye with one another, their beliefs proving to be at odds on occasion. As much as Daigo appreciated- and at times needed- Mine's input, he was ultimately the one in charge, and if Mine wasn't able to comprehend his methods, then Daigo was more than happy to enlighten him.

Summary
To Daigo, Yoshitaka Mine should have been any other person to care for amongst the sea of thousands of Tojo Clan members. That expectation wouldn’t have diminished his importance, yet with so many lives to care for and look after, it wouldn't be hard to imagine keeping tabs on each individual person would be arduous, even for a man who cared so deeply as Daigo honestly did.
Yet in but a few short months, Mine had proved himself more than worthy of just being another member in the Tojo Clan: of course, every member had sworn their allegiance to Daigo when they initially joined, yet it was Mine who seemed to earnestly honor that sentimentality. Everything he did and everything he said screamed devotion, sometimes to a frightening extent.
Truly, that’s where the seed of Daigo’s affections began. Ensuring the chairman’s safety and the Tojo Clan's success was the bare minimum, yet how meticulous Mine had been about it all had felt more personal than out of obligation. In that, it was impossible for Daigo to ignore Mine’s care- nor could he ignore how the thought of it made his chest feel light.

Summary
Since his release from prison and isolation from the Tojo Clan, Daigo's life had been reduced to nothing but a continuous cycle of gratuitous partying and late-night train rides home, if only to prepare himself to restart the routine. A simple schedule- one that was impossible to shake up, really.
But one overcrowded train, a sleepy alcoholic, and an office worker- both just trying to get home, would, at the very least, give him an interesting memory to hold onto.

Summary
Mine was always poised to drop whatever he was doing if it meant providing aid to the Sixth Chairman, so when he asks him to visit the Tojo Clan's HQ for the night to help him with some work, he doesn't give it a second thought. Incidentally, Mine ends up left to work through paperwork while Daigo runs out to get them both some well-deserved dinner.
He shouldn't be gone for long, there's no reason to suspect anything outrageous should happen in his absence. Not even when Mine's alone in the chairman's office chair with his presence ever so recent, and a few feelings left prickling Mine's skin.
