The first time Ghost shares a bed after twenty years of sleeping alone, it is with Soap.
And it is just that; just sleeping. Soap, spread starfish across the bed; Ghost, with his hand carding through Soap’s hair. He smiles softly as Soap moves in his sleep, turning closer to Ghost.
He’s not quite sure how they got here, but he knows it is worth it.

"What's under there huh? I bet you look right ugly." The words had Soap straightening and turning slow in the shadows, eyes locking onto the Corporal.
The man was looming over the table, over König who was hunched low into the seat, shoulders brought up to his ears. There was a sick smirk over the Corporal’s face as he sneered at König, something glinting in the dark eyes that had Soap tensing, it was a look he had seen a few times in his life.
"I bet..." a violent sandstorm began to fill Soaps ears as Stalker begins to settle over his limbs like a cloak. "Perhaps we should take it off and see fo..."
OR: Soap catches people trying to unmask König and has NONE OF IT!

Price approaches Ghost’s room, preparing himself for the likely crude words he was going to get. He grabs the handle and tugs the door open.
“Ghost-” He stops talking, his words dying in his throat and his mind goes blank in an instant. The world seems to slow for a moment as their eyes meet. He doesn’t hold Ghost’s gaze for long though, his eyes shifting to the gun in Ghost’s grip.
The barrel pressed into Ghost’s temple by Ghost’s very own hands.

König looked down at himself. He was wearing cargo pants. There was nothing combustible in his pockets. His jacket was sturdy, and warm enough. His undershirt was even clean. “This is insufficient?”
Soap takes König shopping. Maybe the real sweatpants are the friends we make along the way.

Summary
Among Shifters, he’s been told he is the ideal. Big, muscular, shaggy — built for the cold, for battle, for destruction. Obedient. He goes where he is told and does what is commanded of him. The humans in his unit were not loudly cruel, but they always made comments. How bold of them, when they were all so small. Fragile. And König is big, even by human standards. Especially by their standards. Tall, broad, thick. His hand can crush a man’s skull, not that he ever would. Not deliberately. He doesn’t like to think of himself as a violent beast, though he is a beast. All he ever wanted to do was save people. He requested to be a sniper because he’s a good shot, but also because it gives him anonymity. He can save others without them ever having to see him, see his face. König doesn’t like it when people look at his face. He doesn’t like eye contact, doesn’t like the feeling of the stares. The mask makes it easier, gives him a buffer, but it’s still overwhelming. Still makes him twitch and bolt for a darker corner where he can try to fold his bulk into the shadows and become part of the wall.

With no explanations to give—the Captain wasn’t asking him anything, he was far too concerned with Soap’s condition—the ride to the safehouse was almost completely silent. Almost. The Captain and Nikolai exchanged a few quiet, clipped sentences, but not loud enough for Yuri to make out. He just sat there and twiddled his thumbs, waiting for the chopper to land while the Captain fussed over Soap’s unconscious form.
He cared about Soap a lot, that was clear.
Which is why Yuri was so confused when the Captain put him in charge of taking care of him for a few hours.

Summary
Being told to shut up always hurt. More than he suspected it should. Soap once had drunkenly apologized to Gaz for being such a loudmouth, and when Gaz insisted that everyone liked his friendly chattiness, Soap had literally flopped over him in relief and confessed that being told to shut up was like being kicked. No other insult or fight had the same effect on him.
Except, perhaps, being called useless.
