He listened to Harry… to Harry having a personal moment, and what’s worse he liked it, got off to it, has dreamed about it every night since. Hell, his treacherous horny subconscious even twisted whatever he heard into Harry moaning his name, as if that would ever happen. He is a terrible, horrible person.
A terrible, horrible person who’d do it again in a heartbeat if he had the chance, which is why Niall’s joke about them shagging was so mortifying. Because he wants to, has always wanted to if he’s honest. He put distance between them to protect Harry’s virtue - old-fashioned and absurd as it sounds - but now they’re trapped in the same place, nowhere to run and it’s getting more and more difficult to stay away. The last thing he needs is Niall trying to push them together, especially if Harry is too sweet or too naive to keep his distance - it’s almost endearing that he’s oblivious Louis’ less than pure intentions towards him.

As a successful businessman, Louis is used to the long hours, never-ending work, and constant exhaustion. What hits the hardest, even though he'd never admit it, is the empty apartment he comes home to every day. The low rumble of the kettle boiling sounds just as the person shifts his broad shoulders around to face Louis, his scent hitting the omega like a hurricane wind, knocking his heart into his stomach. Cedarwood and bergamot are about as unbearably familiar as the face of the alpha he’s loved for almost two decades — his floppy curls chopped short and all the extra chub around his cheeks gone, leaving behind a defined jaw and sharp nose.
