Summary
Adora’s eyes open slowly and she sniffs the air, she could smell her scent getting closer and closer. That’s when she hears her footsteps. “Jesus Adora… you stink.” Adora laughs.
“Catra.” She whimpers again. Catra was keeping her distance but now that Adora could smell her, especially her strong alpha pheromones, she wanted nothing more than to bury herself in her scent and make them one.
“What are you doing here?” Catra asks sharply and Adora looks at her as she pushes herself up higher on her knees. Catra takes a sharp breath in. She growls lowly and Adora feels her stomach tighten at the sound.
“I need you.”
Or, Adora goes into heat and she seeks out her alpha... even if they are supposed to be enemies on opposite sides of a war.

"For the last four years, Catra’s routine had been the same.
Every day, she woke up just after dawn; left the comfort of her own bed to go prepare food for her, her husband, and whatever guests they might have; and checked the supply of ale in the cellar.
Then, she would make sure all the mugs and glasses were clean. Once people started rolling in, usually just after noon, the bar would be wiped down and the musicians she employed would be setting up. She would make idle conversation with the others and finish cleaning up until the first groups of men looking for a drink showed up with pockets that clinked and jingled with coins, and then the rest of the night would be spent cleaning mugs and pouring ale.
Catra had resigned herself to this life with a sort of detached acceptance.
Then, a Rebellion captain walked into her establishment, and she knew instantly that something was about to change."

Summary
The fire climbs to an even greater height, crackling and whipping in the light desert breeze. Catra watches it with rapt attention, fearful to let her gaze linger on Adora for too long.
“But we don’t have to fight, you know,” Adora says. “I mean...what’s the point of it now? There’s no rebellion here. And no Horde. There’s just you and me, and a lot of things that wouldn’t hesitate to kill either of us.”
“So, what?” demands Catra. “We pretend to be a team again? After everything?”
“If it keeps us alive,” says Adora. “I’m willing to put all that aside if you are.”
Catra and Adora end up exiled to the Crimson Waste together. If they're going to conquer gangs, quicksand, serpents, and other desert threats, they'll need to learn to trust one another again.

“If you’re done talking about Adora and Catra getting married,” says Entrapta, with all the subtlety and tact of a sledgehammer, “I have calculated the voltage needed…”
Wherever the rest of Entrapta’s sentence is going to go, it falls away. The whole room falls away as understanding hits Catra like a bolt of lightning, an electrifying shock to her system that leaves her reeling. Getting married? Her and Adora? Questions well up on her tongue — What? Why? — and she doesn’t realize she has fumbled through those fragmented inquiries until Frosta answers her.
“Um. You’re wearing Adora’s pin.”
