He should have known nothing was going to be easy, but Mori gave him a new name and a new life. He gave him a chance to become something —someone different — so he became Dazai. Now the gods are calling for him to come back to New York at sixteen and Mori is sending him with Chuuya to make sure he doesn't off himself. Dazai thinks that's stupid. He shouldn't have to bring the slug with him.
So, he sent Hirotsu to be the double black's handler to ensure they didn't kill each other.

Summary
The wizards are too dumb to solve the mystery behind the chamber of secrets themselves, so they reluctantly go to the muggles for help. Well not the muggles, a certain group of muggles, with a certain world's best detective.
Sent as a transfer student after being aged down by magic, and dragging his totally just a rival along with him, and his emotional support raccoon (of course), they go to investigate this mystery. Or just to cause shenanigans and get magical candy.
Safe to say Honeydukes has a new favorite customer.
