The resemblance Bruce had to Damian trying on the batsuit was bordering on uncanny and it set confirmation in Dick’s mind that he had been correct with his assumption this was some sort of de-age situation.
Or; While on patrol, Bruce got de-aged to his teenage self that had yet found the outlet which is Batman. It's up to his kids to get him back to his actual age; not without learning that the Bruce they know is so far different from the young Bruce they're with.

Something was happening to Bruce. It started with little things like a ringing in his ears and some dizziness, but it eventually evolved into something much more severe. Whatever this was, he wasn’t going to bother his family with it, especially his children. They didn't need to be burdened with an old man like him, seeing as they had their own lives, personal and vigilante wise.
They'll forget about him. They already did, didn't they?

But, as Bruce's life always does, it never goes his way.

How does Batman cope with all the pain?
Those who have met him have wondered. No one knows, nor do they ever question it often. Batman is the most prepared of heroes; he has countless of plans and methods, all built for any scenario.
But nobody knew those methods would include something so harrowing. Under those lead-filled gauntlets lay streaks of darkening red, its numbers increasing with each mistake that he himself makes.
All it takes is for him to let his guard down, and finally, two teammates find out.
