“Beatrice,” Beatrice takes your hand and gives it a firm shake, and you’re surprised at the callouses you feel.
“It’s nice to officially meet you, Beatrice.”
“Likewise.”
Beatrice gives you a funny look before looking down at your joined hands. Your eyes follow and you immediately drop hers like you’ve been burned, not realizing you’ve been holding on like a schoolgirl.
“Sorry,” You tuck your hands in your pockets, where they’re less likely to cause trouble.
