“Yes.” Ilya deadpanned and then took another sip of his coffee.
Shane shook his head and for the first time since they’d arrived, looked irritated.
“Could you at least try to be cooperative?” Shane asked out of the corner of his mouth, hopefully out of range for the mics.
Ilya rolled his eyes and huffed. He hated doing press. No one ever wanted to ask him anything of value, it was always shallow questions about his filmography or worse his supposed “hatred” of Shane Hollander.
“Actually, Ryan,” Ilya gave Shane a smug look, “I have perfected it because isn’t it better to be known for one thing instead of a million little things?” He stared Shane down as he said that final line, it was his bitter way of saying ‘fuck you’ to the whole Hollywood BS without losing his job.
OR Ilya Rozanov has a reputation for being an asshole and Shane Hollander is Hollywood's darling. To save both of their careers they enter into an agreement to "date" in the public eye.

Summary
After coming out to Rose, Shane decides he doesn't want to lie anymore, even if he isn't sure coming out will mean he gets happily ever after with Ilya. When coming out to the Voyageurs leaves him wondering what his future in Montreal might look like, he lets himself be a little selfish, he lets himself wonder if there might be somewhere else he might be happy. If Montreal wants to get rid of a generational player, he's not about to stop them, especially if it means he can get a little closer to joy.
