“Hi! You can take any free table you want and I'll be there to take your order in a moment,” A soft voice with a diminutive Spanish accent dragged Wilhelm out of his thoughts. He dragged his eyes off one of the tables to the waiter. He was wearing an obviously oversized, black uniform t-shirt tucked into a pair of brown jeans. Wasn’t brown and black like a fashion crime? He had a few dark curls draped over his forehead but the rest of his hair was tied up to neat space buns, it looked pretty.
Wilhelm smiled in response, giving him a slight nod of acknowledgement and making his way to one of the tables.
Or
Wilhelm was forced to move to Stockholm for university and ends up sharing a rented apartment with Simon. And it turns out sharing isn’t half as bad as he thought, when you fall in love with your roommate.

In the end, he forces himself towards the cafeteria. Maybe lunch will make him feel better, maybe it will help him make sense of the way Wilhelm had just spoken to him. So casual and kind, like he had never ripped Simon’s world in half and ground his heart into dust.
But maybe that’s exactly what Simon had always been to him: casual.
