“The winter solstice?” Gray looked up at Ur as she spoke.
“Yes Gray, the winter solstice is the shortest day of the year. After tonight, the days will get longer again. A lot of people like to celebrate, for one reason or another. Some people use it as a marker of winter’s end before spring, others just use it as an excuse to get together with family.”
“What about you, Ur? What does it mean to you?”
She smiled to herself, “It means a lot of things to me. It’s a reminder that another year has passed and a reminder that no matter how cold or dark the winter is, spring always comes.”
Gray knitted his eyebrows, “But, you’re an ice mage! Why does it matter that it’s cold? And what does that have to do with spring?”
