And there's nothing that lights a fire in Daniel more than an unsolved puzzle."Chapter one is my take on Daniel's turning at the end of IWTV season 2 - you can never have enough Daniel-turning fics - and chapter two is something that came to me after watching the SDCC teaser and feeling compelled to write something based on Vampire Daniel draining a suspiciously hipster, masc-presenting individual in a dressing room at a Vampire Lestat concert.

A sequel of sorts to Thought and Memory - this is a canon-compliant Armand POV fic that takes us through the events of IWTV season 2. I may have fallen into a rabbit hole between seasons 1 and 2, and now I've not only watched the show a countless number of times, but also read up to Queen of the Damned in the Vampire Chronicles, plus skipping ahead and reading the Vampire Armand. Where Thought and Memory was limited third person to keep some of that mystery around Armand's true intentions I settled on switching to first person for this fic to best dive into this ancient manipulator's psyche, so I hope you enjoy this spiral into madness with me. -

The first work in a series I came up with a while back to cope with the end of Interview season 2 where each of the main vampires we follow actually does prevent Claudia's death. This installment follows how Louis could have prevented it by admitting to Claudia that Armand had found them out when he wants to in episode 3, and the cascading effects that has on their time in Paris.Series

"Armand had cautioned Louis against this second interview. What use was it to tell that wrung-out reporter his story? It was admirable, worthy of adoration that Louis had come to a place of acceptance for his life’s narrative, at least in its majority - but it was not something the people of the world had any entitlement to. However, in the end it was Louis' choice, and Armand would support him in it. One of his caveats to the agreement was that he be present during the interview, but knowing that his appearance as a second vampire, one who Daniel Molloy may or may not remember seeing that fateful night in San Francisco may upset the old man, given what they had learned of his life and his health in preparation for this venture. So, Armand had proposed he pose as an assistant of sorts. Rashid. The pious young man who had bound himself to Louis' service in the vain hope of his love or his gift."
