Noelle and Kris have known each other forever; they grew up together, Kris pulling pranks that made Noelle shriek only to get chased around by Dess with a wiffle bat in retaliation, playing video games together until Kris inevitably decided to get up and go play the Holiday family's piano...
Then Dess went missing. Kris went quiet. Asriel left for college. Distance grew between friends.
Dess came back. Kris started to smile again. Noelle and Kris reconnected, and together, they survived high school.
College is going to be a new challenge all its own, but at least they're in it together, right?
...Then Noelle meets her new roommate, Susie, and things get a little more complicated.
(AKA I refuse to pick a ship so all three of these dorks are going to figure out the whole friendship thing and fall for each other or so help me)

Summary
The pillow wasn’t enough.
They clutched it over their ears as they tossed and turned, balling their fists up in its fluffy mass. Music rang through the walls. Heavy, fumbling footsteps shook the floor, a noise more felt than heard. Careless, slurring voices, interspersed with giggles and that wretched, obnoxious, grating chuckle—

They knelt in front of the birdcage. “Anywhere but here,” they rasped, as if their intent had ever held any weight before. As if it would listen, if it could even hear.

“Let’s close our eyes and think about what Susie’s doing now, okay, Kris?”Shaken, Kris met Ralsei’s gaze with wide eyes. If there were any doubt left in Kris’s mind about the intentionality behind these little meditative exercises, usually followed by some subtle check-in… this dispelled it. Maybe they were imagining it, but the Darkner Prince’s warm cherry-blossom eyes seemed to see right past their walls, through the layers of coercion and control, to the hollow husk of a child at the center of it all.
(In which Kris retreats to their bedroom in Castle Town after the events of Chapter 4 and makes a friend.)

“Antlers count!” Kris yelled back. “Now we’re tied!”

Summary
Kris was done. They weren't going to tolerate the interdimensional invader in their ribcage any longer. And if they had to open a fountain to get rid of it, they were going to.
Or at least, they were. Until that invader offered something new: the chance to remember between resets. To make their own decisions with nothing more than some minor advice and a helping hand if requested. Naturally, Kris was interested. And that's why they woke up on Thursday morning, remembering two days that technically hadn't happened yet.
Messing with the code can be delicate work. Do the wrong thing at the wrong time, and the bridge might just break. Or change fundamentally.
It's a good thing nothing like that could happen, right?
...Right?

Anonymous on tumblr: do you have a skin that would mimic the author’s notes and review/kudos buttons section from the end of a fic? the desired effect being that the fic could go on after the “end” of the fic, so after the author’s notes and review/kudos buttons
Here's a tutorial/live example to do just that, with some of the buttons actually functioning. I'll explain more inside!
