But there was one thing he hadn’t lost to the water. His hands, that had made his bow from the remains of the Home Tree, that had made the visor he donned on his last ride from the mountains. His hands, that could weave and build. Aonung stopped in his tracks as he asked that question. His eyes were wide as he realised what he said to them.
“Aonung?”
He slowly turned his head to Neteyam and said, “You promise not to be mad?”
“Of course, why would I be?” Neteyam replied, twirling the arrow in his fingers.
“I may have accidentally told my parents my mate was…”
“...you.”
