There’s a flash of yellow flames, and Hermione tucks her face into her elbow, the smell of sulfur potent in the air. She’s fascinated by the ritual, but more so with Malfoy. The way he looms by the flames, unfazed, eyes reflecting the inferno of his creation. He looked like Lucius years before when she’d first met him. Striking. The very picture of intimidation. Draco seems even darker in some ways, though she knows him to be far less evil.
