Robert Robertson is a man who puts himself in situations where powers would be pretty useful.
But he doesn't have them. What he does have is a mortal body made of breakable bones, cuttable skin, bruisable flesh, and other generally damageable stuff.

Golem turned away from him to go join up with her, and Robert followed-- or he intended to. Something went wrong when he took a step to the side. He felt his body swaying.
“Woah.” Robert caught himself on the bench, next to Prism.
“Watch it,” said Prism. “The bar fight’s over, boy. Don’t go knocking yourself out now.”

“Who the fuck even are you?”
He grins at the question, feeling his chest swell into something more… proud. He could really, really do with this. “Glad you asked. I am Chad, and I’m a hero.” That really feels odd to say, still. Flambae pauses to scratch his chin with his right hand. “Well, it’s my first day tomorrow. But, you know, technicalities.”
And that’s when he notices that the other’s gaze fixates on his stumps, eyes going a bit wide.
(He notices the pause, the way the guy swallows hard too as he leans back with dropped shoulders.
The aggressive behaviour vanishes at once and Flambae doesn’t know if he should want it back.)
“Ah. Shit.”
