Summary
On the road back to Edoras after Helm's Deep and Isengard, Aragorn is still grieving Arwen's apparent departure to the Havens. But Eowyn is pleasant company, and perhaps something more.
Why then, is his heart troubled?
This is my paltry answer to the Movieverse depiction of Aragorn and Eowyn, and perhaps to all who wish their relationship would have continued.

Summary
If Boromir had lived, so would have Denethor. And the Steward of Gondor holds no love for a Ranger from the North, victor and savior of Minas Tirith though he may be.
In the aftermath of the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, there is little time for rest. Much healing and restoration must be done. But Denethor hates and schemes, and he is still the ruler of Gondor.
And still the one who can deliver traitors over to death.

Summary
Aragorn has fought for Gondor for several years as Captain Thorongil, and though he keeps his true name and origins secret, he is faithful and true to the people of Gondor and their Steward, Ecthelion. All hold him in high esteem, except Ecthelion’s son Denethor, who is jealous of Thorongil’s popularity. But Ecthelion dies suddenly, and with power now in his grasp, Denethor seeks revenge on his rival. But hope comes to Aragorn on small, timid feet.
