    “I’m a medic,” Ratchet said dryly. “I know how to identify a problem. Please, Bulkhead, get that blanket off. You know it’s not helping, don’t you?”

    “’s keeping the scent discreet,” Bulkhead muttered as his head emerged. He wrapped the blanket around him like a cloak, trying to hide as much of his frame as possible still, but Ratchet had good optics. It wasn’t hard to see, despite Bulkhead sitting cross-legged, that his panel was open and his valve was leaking. The air felt heavy with pheromones now, and Ratchet inhaled.

    He wished he had been wrong, but no such luck.

    “Kid, why didn’t you tell me you were going in heat?"

    Or where Bulkhead doesn't show himself for a checkup and an irrate Ratchet soon discovers why.
