Summary
“I'm psychic, jack!” was how it had all started. Three words, dripping with sarcasm and laced with venom. A tiny, barbed weapon of a sentence that Shawn had slung at the detectives who had chosen him as victim of their verbal assault. A simple knee-jerk reaction to having his methods and abilities called into question.
If Shawn had thought about it, he would have agreed with and understood the detectives' point of view – after all, a strange man who didn't seem to have a regular job had just walked in, knowing too much about local crime and claiming to have advanced deductive skills that even the police station's own homicide investigators couldn't match. Of course he came across as suspicious.
... Too bad “I'm psychic,” the least honest thing he said in that interrogation room, was also the only thing he said that anyone believed.

This is a continuation/sequel to "the Elfking," but has a very different vibe. It explores what happens to Ryou after his transformation into a fae creature, and tries to establish a bit of who his new self truly is.

Rin opens his eyes to an unfamiliar ceiling and blinks slowly, trying to bring the events of last night into focus. He peeks over to his right and startles so badly he almost tumbles right off the edge of the unfairly soft and foreign bed. He gapes at Nanase Haruka, the guy he has been drooling over all semester in the mandatory Introduction to Psychology class they take, who he had asked out no less than seven times before an agreement met his ears.
