Summary
Obi-Wan plopped his head back on the raised back of the bed with a frustrated huff. He should’ve expected Anakin’s rigid denial. Master Vokara had quite effectively turned Anakin into her ever-watchful agent, the traitor, making sure that Obi-Wan couldn’t even yawn without someone being in the room.
It was tiresome.
Anakin clicked his tongue. “No matter how many times you moan and groan, we’re not letting you leave.”
“And that’s precisely why I’m moaning and groaning.”
(Or: Obi-Wan has a close call on a mission and proceeds to stumble his way through connecting with his little monster of a padawan. If only Anakin wouldn't keep bolting out of the room.)

Summary
“Obi-Wan,” she said, her whisper catching on the wind to float to his ears.
His hood fell from his head as he sharply turned to her, and she saw his eyes widen.
“Satine,” he breathed.
(Satine and Obi-Wan over the years, from their initial parting to their reunion years later and everything in between.)

Summary
Obi-Wan and Anakin had an entirely too-large floor of forty rooms all to themselves. Only one was occupied, and it was situated a third of the way down the hall, plenty of time to discover how much his footsteps echoed.
Sometimes Obi-Wan allowed himself to consider why it was he and Anakin were alone on the floor, and only sometimes would he allow the less-than-pleasant thoughts as to why they were isolated. Due to his answers, it was rare that he would let them linger.
(Or: Obi-Wan and Anakin adjust to being on a floor of the Temple by themselves. They make the best of it. Sequel to "Moving In")

Summary
“Anakin,” Obi-Wan repeated, voice quiet. “Who took you there?”
Anakin's mouth opened up, and nothing came out at first, just a tiny croak of air. But he concentrated on Obi-Wan’s warmth on his shoulder. This time, he forced the words out, like pushing air through a clogged pipe.
“Mr. Palpatine.”
And the moment it released into the air, he felt he’d just thrashed a gong the way the sound, as small as it was, filled their apartment. He swallowed as Obi-Wan stared at him.
“The Chancellor,” he said.
(Or: A distraught Anakin comes home from somewhere he shouldn't have been, Obi-Wan is concerned, and the world rights itself from their conversation. Also, f*** Palpatine.)

Summary
“How come none of the other rooms have plants?” Anakin asked as he trotted over to the dining room table. “Are they yours?”
“No.” His voice was so quiet he wasn’t sure Anakin would even be able to hear him. “No, not mine.” Such a simple question, but he felt the twist in his chest nonetheless. He swallowed thickly before answering, “They were Qui-Gon’s.”
“Oh,” he breathed out, then seemed to take in the room anew, casting his gaze to each pot. There was a solemn wrinkle in his brow, all the more evident now that the boy’s hair had been cut from the shaggy look he sported before.
Obi-Wan wasn’t entirely sure why, but he didn’t want to hear what Anakin would say in return.
(Or: About a month after Naboo, Obi-Wan and Anakin move into Master-Padawan living quarters together.)

Summary
“Cal has never had the luxury or the security to be anything other than what circumstances forced him to be,” Cere says. Her voice contains a tinge of sorrow, one which Merrin suspects she has failed to recognize in the past. “I don’t think he knows who he is—or who he wants to be—any more than you do, Merrin. He has an idea of who he thinks he should be, one that has guided him for the last decade, but he’s never had a real opportunity to reflect and examine if that’s what he wants for himself.”
Merrin frowns, feeling chastised. Cal has always been so set in his path; she feels foolish for seeing the wounds of his past and mistaking them for an enviable certainty of purpose.
As if reading her mind, Greez laughs a little too loud and says, “Don’t beat yourself up about it, Merrin. He’s got himself fooled too.”
To care for Cal is a privilege.

Summary
"I think I want to kiss you," she whispers.
Loid takes a sharp inhale, mesmerized by her sparkling wine eyes burning a hole in his bottom lip.
"Is that normal," she breathes, barely audible.
"That's normal," Loid assures back. It's not. Nothing about this, about them, is normal.
Yor nods, the tiniest movement of her head, eyes never leaving his lips. "Does it ever go away?" she asks, innocently. Like this could be an illness, a temporary affliction that will pass out of her system.
Loid exhales slowly. "God I hope not."
Or, in this alternate universe, Twilight and Thorn Princess meet long before Loid and Yor. Circumstances around them shape their lives in ways they never expected.

Bookmarker's Notes
Great portrayals of Yor and Loid—especially their psyche, trauma, and internal conflict. A very open ending, though. Still, a great read ❤️
