Summary
Post Carcosa, Marty's thinking about undomesticated animals and fatherhood and hair dressers. He's got a mission and a shower chair and he thinks maybe Rust trusts him more than he should.
[read as a one shot / only technically a prequel to Names of endurance, Names of devotion]
Skull of a full-grown man's much bigger, got more surface area, more hair than a little girl's head does. He tries to eyeball it, guesses, smears sweet smelling goop around for a while before combing his fingers through. No tangles. He is proud. Then again, his fingers are big, meaty, might be missing knots, hands might be clumsy no matter how much care he puts into this. Good thing he bought one of them wide tooth things, just in case.
"Are you--that a comb?" Rust asks.
"Shut the fuck up," Marty says.

Summary
When Harry comes back from Martinaise, he comes back different.
You pretend you’re happy. Everyone is so happy. You are the only one, it seems, that knows something is wrong. Is missing.
You, and maybe Harry.
He watches you, his eyes following you like a ghost. Like you are some dropped clue, some missing piece. You usually meet his eyes and scowl until one of you looks away. It’s usually fifty-fifty on which one of you it is. -
