Harvey Dent had been under my care for just over a year. His fiancée at the time, Grace Guilder, first reached out to me expressing concern about Harvey’s frequent night terrors, which she believed were linked to his history of extreme childhood physical and sexual abuse. After I spoke with Grace, she persuaded Harvey to schedule an appointment. Abed’s dark eyes shined adorably, with that light they only got when he was really excited. “Cool. Cool cool cool. Me too.”
(Or: Troy accidentally gets a boner while he’s cuddling with his best platonic friend. They have platonic sex that isn’t gay and Troy gets possibly a little too excited about it.)

“I don’t want to be beautiful.” Some petulant, anxious part of you snivels in the recesses of your mind. The child that recalls another bath, another pair of large white hands, another European God coming to remake him in His image, cries for the sweltering Delhi sun, and the face of a woman that you can no longer remember. “I never asked to be beautiful. I don't want this.”

After Akasha's death, no one seems to know what to do next, least of all Armand. Marius wants to pretend the last few centuries never happened, Louis and Gabrielle are fighting, Daniel is just happy to be alive and in the company of vampires and Lestat has locked himself away from the rest to write all the things he won't say to anyone out loud.
Well, if Louis and Gabrielle can't help Lestat, maybe Armand can.
