Adrian sighed and walked back up the stairs to keep the mug in the microwave for whenever she did wake up.
Walking back down the stairs after a talk with his dads (in which Adrian was worried that he had broken Nova), he sat on the grass of the forest around him and just stared.
"You're so calm," he whispered to himself, Nova's eyes still closed, her lips still in that small expression that he couldn't place. She looked so beautiful when she was sleeping.

Did I watch a Disney Channel kids movie and think "I could make the climax more dramatic"? Maybe. The good news is that this got me out of writer's block! So this is the scene about trying to unite the two moonstones but a little less Disney appropriate (nothing too graphic though). And, the magic from the moonstones is less immediate.
“Victor, please. Please open your eyes,” she pleaded. His breathing stuttered. More lighting flashed, and thunder soon followed. The fighting all but stopped. “Please wake up.”
