Jinx, still red-faced and trying to maintain some parental dignity, gave him a tight-lipped smile as she dragged her hand down her face.
“You… just told a story that probably sounded way different than it actually was,” she said diplomatically. “That’s all.”

Ops, family drama.You might be able to read these without reading part 1 (if you really want to), but you will likely be somewhat confused and the original story is only like 8k words anyway—it's not that long. Summary
Jinx hated football. Ever since her best friend, her partner-in-crime, joined the team their freshmen year of high school, and found out he cared the sport more than he cared about their friendship, she’s hated the whole fucking thing of it. The spectacle, the pageantry. The fans.
She hated Ekko most of all. The abandonment stinging for years, causing an irreparable rift between the two of them. A pair that seemed inseparable just the day before he tried out.
Now, they were both at the same college, and Jinx has to deal with football more than ever before. The sheer fawning of everyone over her ex-best friend.
So, when they’re partnered up for a class project, forced together for the first time in years, Jinx gets the wonderfully, brilliant idea to regain Ekko’s attention.
Fuck him. Literally. Figuratively. Until he thinks about her, more than he’s ever thought about football.
What could go wrong?
