During the stormy Quidditch match, a flock of dementors swarmed the pitch and were warded off by the professors before any damage could be done, with one exception. For while everyone was panicking, Harry Potter was Kissed. However, the dementor recognized the soul-piece of their ally Lord Voldemort and left it alone, essentially resurrecting the Dark Lord with no one the wiser. Now Lord Voldemort just had to make sure it stayed that way.
