Summary
Shane hefted his bag of gear over his shoulder and, out of habit, he checked his pockets for his phone and wallet before looking up to meet Rozanov’s intense stare. The Russian smiled and said something fast enough that Shane’s jetlagged brain wasn’t able to keep up.
He bit back a yawn and asked, “Again?”
“Mm, if you ask nicely,” Rozanov taunted, his accent washing over Shane. He winced at the reality of his own stilted Russian, which almost certainly wasn’t as charming as Rozanov’s English. Regardless, Shane found himself too tired to fight.
“Again?” he repeated, then let out an exasperated sigh. “Please?”
“I said,” he began in English before switching to slow, deliberate Russian, “Welcome to Moscow, Hollander. I hope you’re ready to play real hockey.”

Due to a lockout in the National Hockey League, Shane Hollander is forced to abandon his rookie year in Montreal for the next best thing. It’s too bad Ilya Rozanov had the same idea.
