Summary
Technically speaking, all dreams are memories…of a kind. But the visions that Jannik’s been having about Carlos this week have been terrifyingly realistic.
In them, the Spaniard seems so real. The settings too, are distressingly grounded in reality. Only in these quasi-memories, Carlos behaves nothing like the young man Jannik actually knows from years of playing tennis together.
Even if Jannik thought Carlos capable of what he can remember…it still couldn’t be real. So he has no choice but to accept that these are simply some type of sick, recurring dream he’s been having.
That he keeps having…
…and they’re only getting worse.
Following his retirement in Cincinnati, Jannik finds himself subject to an escalating series of lucid dreams about Carlos Alcaraz. The Italian is certain that they’re dreams, even if they don’t feel that way. In fact, they must be dreams. No matter how viscerally the contents chase after him in waking life.
They simply cannot be anything but the bizarre fantasies of a fatigued mind.

Summary
He resolves to get Jannik up and convince him to take a quick peak at the heavens on the deck. Just as Carlos gets hold of the sleeping man’s shoulders to wake him, however, he recalls the cautionary tale of a preteen Mark Sinner getting bitchslapped in the face.
Which is how Carlos finds himself poised three feet from the edge of the bed, clutching one of his sandals in his hand like a throwing star. With nerves more appropriate for trigging a landmine, he flings the sandal at the bed, where it falls on the unsuspecting form of his sleeping fiancé.
The moment the shoe makes contact, Jannik pops up in a whirl of flailing limbs and flung sheets. “Was ist das?” the redhead mumbles blearily, head whipping around in confusion. Carlos feels grateful to have gotten out of the blast radius.
Jannik looks down incredulously at the sandal still in his lap. “Do you throw shoe at me?”
After Carlos drunkenly outs himself while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Jannik rushes to him with plans for a romantic escape from his troubles. As the two men immerse themselves in the thrill of newfound love, Carlos has his own plans to make it last forever.

Summary
Unimpressed, Jannik shoots the criminal a dirty look. “What is that?” he asks, an accusatory finger pointing in the direction of the journal.
Djokovic’s answering grin is blinding. He holds the book against his chest to give Jannik an unobstructed view of the cover. “You like it?” the Serbian asks before laughing at the scowl on the redhead’s face, the surest sign of displeasure. “Do not pout! This is my little book of Jannikisms!”
Jannik’s eyes widen, darting between the man and journal in alarm. “Your book of what?”
This bewildered response only tickles Djokovic. “Jannikisms,” he repeats slowly, as if it were the phonetic arrangement of consonants and vowels that the younger man failed to comprehend.
In a world where Novak Djokovic doesn’t become the greatest tennis player in history, he becomes something much worse…
Jannik Sinner recognizes him anyway.

“Dude, did you just use a blunt to lure me to a sex shop?” Ben asked, failing to contain his laughter after a few seconds.
In response, Pete lightly whacked his arm. “Hey, it’s a tasteful biker bar slash tattoo parlor,” he corrected, snatching the roach of the blunt from Ben’s hand and stamping it out on the ground. Notably he did this right next to the bar’s entrance, not a care in the world. “But you can’t say I don’t time my weed fueled abductions perfectly.”

Summary
This is how it goes: they get on each other’s nerves, McCoy takes Spock for a spin in his quarters, and they return to business as usual on the Enterprise. McCoy keeps the med bay functioning, and Spock does—whatever it is that First Officers do. They don’t talk about work (or much of anything) much, once McCoy gets his hands on Spock behind closed doors.
The most important thing that McCoy tells himself, though, is that Spock isn’t his. He’s never been his—he’s Jim’s, at the end of the day. They’re the happy ending everyone’s rooting for. He’s just a bit selfish, reaping the benefits of their occasional break ups.
But that’s not really it, is it?
