Though there are many differences between the two shards of souls that was Zayne, most of them are merely a representation of two sides of the same coin-one soft, one harsh.

Sweet, rasping breath brands the skin of my shoulder where it lingers, and my heart clenches.

Low and rough, his voice wavers, in sync with the trembling of his searing fingertips where it travels up the bend of my arm.
The long hem of his sweater hedges upwards and my lip catches between teeth, shivering as his steady, chilled hands skims over the exposed torso, tenderly, hesitantly, so softly.

His voice cracks, each word drags painfully as if he were a sinner confessing to the true sickening depth of his darkest vices.

“Not like that.” His voice has a rich, almost teasing rumble to it as he adjusts his legs, closing them and shifting forward on the couch. He looks up at you expectantly, a silent command in his gaze. Heat blooms in your cheeks as you realize what he wants.
A swell of embarrassment rises in your chest, making your cheeks burn as you picture yourself draped over his knee, vulnerable and exposed. You bite your lip, torn between hesitation and something undeniably tempting.
“Zayne…” You can’t keep the whine out of your voice, and the sound only makes the blush creep up your neck further. He lets out a soft, indulgent chuckle, clearly amused by your reaction.
“Come here, baby,” he murmurs, his voice low and soothing. Tempting. “Don’t you trust me?”
