Summary
The party, exhausted from a slog through the damp grime of the Spire's sewers, is offered an opportunity by the Melting Dragon—to take whatever time they need to rest and recuperate in his domain before they continue their ascent.
They take the offer, of course, and pile themselves together along with the various soft things strewn about the place for a much-needed nap. The Ironclad (despite where he finds himself, in all this) doesn't follow their example.
At least, not immediately.

Summary
Why does the bulge in Kim Kitsuragi's pants suddenly interest Harry so?
Kim calls Harry "lieutenant-double-yefreitor" ever since he was reunited with his lost badge. The badge shows his rank to be just that. Double-yefreitor meaning he passed up not one but two promotions. That rank makes him more senior than Kim.
Why does that small piece of information make Harry oddly satisfied?
All he knows is that he likes it when those words come out of Kim’s mouth. He likes how they sound. He likes Kim’s mouth.

“A small item for your review, Lieutenant,”
It’s spoken quietly, almost inaudible, but Harry had felt her walk up to his desk and had dutifully ended the last sentence in his report in preparation. When he looks up at Alice’s figure stood over him, she’s holding out a small paper envelope, a soft smile on her face.
He has all the time in the world for their newest recruit from the 57th (anyone with the full backing of Kim is A-OK in Harry’s book); she’s polite and pleasant, very good at her work—and most importantly, there’s a streak of competitiveness in her that manifests in innumerable delightful ways. This week she seems to be focusing on revealing small tidbits of ‘Lt. Kitsuragi’ to Harry, and he is more than happy to facilitate this at every opportunity.

Summary
This is ridiculous. Kim is fine. He's in his room at the Whirling, and is probably sound asleep. Are prophetic dreams even real?
LOGIC: No.
INLAND EMPIRE: Yes.
Harry tosses and turns for what feels like hours (twenty minutes). It's impossible to go back to sleep. He's restless, he's anxious, and he's still very sweaty.
DRAMA: You won't be able to rest until you see Kim. Even if you just knock on his door and hear his voice telling you to go back to bed, that would be enough.
ELECTROCHEMISTRY: You could also drink yourself to sleep. That would work just as well.
VOLITION: Well, it’s one or the other. You can’t get drunk and bother Kim after hours.
It's a bad idea, Harry thinks, even as he gets dressed.
-or-
Harry has a nightmare, and he's making it Kim's problem.

Summary
Problem:
Out on a lake in Central Jamrock that was formed by a meteorite strike, a little ship has been circling for years, searching the lakebed for something. This is its impossible, maybe even eternal task. Its helm stands empty. It can't move on, to open seas and open skies, until it finds what it lacks. It has to try, and keep trying. It's running out of time.
