Cutting over her patterns makes them branch outRumi continued. “Demons don’t have human blood.” She extended her right arm, her hand balled into a fist with her palm up. She flexed her hand back to expose her wrist, reaching across with her left hand to grab her forearm near the elbow. “I do.” She squeezed tighter than necessary, hoping that tensing her muscles would minimize the anxious shaking she could feel coming on. “Take Zoey’s Shin-kal and cut my wrist. I’ll bleed red, which means I’m human.”
