It takes Mark a while to realize that this is sort of a game for Jaehyun, that all of the things that make it fun for him are exactly what make it upsetting for Mark—not knowing when Jaehyun will text, if Jaehyun will look at him that day, if Jaehyun is really still just helping out his little brother’s friend or something else. It’s probably not something else.
Or, Mark’s been in love with Jaehyun for twenty years. He’s never known any better.
