Based on a Reddit theory I read about the Unknown and it has stuck with me and made me love this DBD killer even more (https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/1azdj0k/the_unknown_theoryand_art/).
The Unknown knew about how the public thought of it, but it seems as though not everyone would think that way. Ichabod had lost her grandfather a few weeks back and was maintaining his summer home as everything was getting settled, she meets the monster but instead of horror and dread, she shows it kindness and love. Neither of which would think it would eventually blossom into more until it happens.

You were thrown into an ocean of sharks covered in chum. What seemed like an innocent flyer turned out to be the WORST situation you've ever been in. The questions of ethical thinking and morality are out the window in this.. fucked up place. When you just barely get your balance when you are thrown into a mission that hits a little to close to the heart. The innocent and guilty end up the same way here, but what happens when an innocent man is just too much for you to handle? Easterman's praise only goes so far in a situation like this. You are weak, but not weak enough to keep this going.
