Wei Wuxian is a necromancer living out in the woods after being banished, and Lan Wangji is an esteemed cultivator sent to investigate him. When the initial investigation concludes and his superiors tell him to continue it in secret, he follows the advice of a friend to pretend that he is wooing this dangerous necromancer as a reason to keep visiting without raising his suspicion. This may or may not turn into genuine wooing, and said necromancer may or may not be quite amenable to this (lol of course he is), as is the cultivator.

“Do we...” Wei Ying looked around to see if anyone was nearby, then lowered his voice anyway and leaned in to whisper: “Do we have sex?”
Lan Zhan let out a small huff of a laugh in response, as Wei Ying’s face flooded with color at the squirmy feeling even asking the question brought up in him.
“Yes,” Lan Zhan replied, once he had gotten over his initial reaction. He maintained steady eye contact. “We do.”

Lan Zhan couldn’t have given it any less thought.
“Yes,” he breathes out, almost immediately. “Yes, Wei Ying, if you’d like me to stay—if you want me, here. I will—I can. I will stay.”
It’d been so easy, Wei Ying has to deliberately hide his shock.
Or, Lan Zhan asks Wei Ying to return to Gusu with him. Wei Ying gets him to stay in Burial Mounds instead.

“I know,” Xie Lian said with a grin.
“The best. The most amazing man,” Shi Qingxuan added, gesturing in Hua Cheng’s direction. Xie Lian caught Hua Cheng’s expression over Shi Qingxuan’s head, amused at the almost palpable annoyance on his face. He instantly turned his face away when he caught Xie Lian staring at him, the blush tinting his cheeks adding to his loveliness.
“Keep him forever, Xie Lian,” Shi Qingxuan sniffled.
Xie Lian pulled an arm free of his friend’s hold to touch the underside of Hua Cheng’s chin and steer his face back to his own.
“I plan to,” he said, holding Hua Cheng’s eye. He hummed with pleasure when Hua Cheng’s expression melted into sweet affection, and he kissed Xie Lian’s cheek.
