The cast isn't doing so great after the events of episode 7... both from having their spirits shattered with the false exit and also from the revelation that Caine has the ability to mess with their minds.
Maybe it's better to just let themselves abstract... fade away into the circus with everyone else... maybe it's the only way to get one up over Caine. Letting him suffer the consequences of his actions and be left alone in the circus, like he was afraid of.

Summary
Jax is definitely not beating himself up after his argument with Pomni. Why would he, when he's already told her and himself he doesn't care about anyone in the circus? He's determined to keep his actual feelings about the circus members behind the door of his bedroom, all contained to a singular corkboard on his wall.
Pomni is determined to continue being friends with Jax, even after their spat, because she knows he was lying his way through it. She's respecting his space as best as she can, until him ignoring her makes her break entirely. Can she find a way to make them be friends again, and find a way past the walls he's built up around himself?
