Summary
“I’m not stressed,” Izaya says. “My head is fucking—it won’t fucking stop,” Izaya gasps, fumbling with the unlit cigarette in his hands and accidentally dropping it off the balcony to the street below. Shizuo covers Izaya’s trembling, outstretched hand with his own and pulls their joined hands to wrap around Izaya, and Izaya shivers hard and spins so his face is buried in Shizuo’s chest.
“Fuck,” Izaya says, ragged, and Shizuo holds him tight.

Summary
“You okay?” Shizuo asks, apparently seeing some of the hesitation in Izaya’s expression. The concern only makes Izaya’s heart lurch again, and he disguises whatever it is he’s feeling by pushing past Shizuo into the apartment as if he owns the place.
“I’m fine, Shizu-chan,” Izaya somehow remembers to say, his voice lilting in a good approximation of its normal cadence.

Summary
Izaya cracks his eyes open to look up at Shizuo, and Shizuo offers a small smile, the best he can do when his head feels like this.
“God, I think I’m actually still drunk,” Izaya groans, his eyes falling closed again. Shizuo huffs a laugh and looks at the clock. It’s only 7:30 a.m. They have a long day ahead of them.

Summary
Izaya is almost too breathless to speak, but he manages a nod and tries to lighten his grip at Shizuo’s shoulders, the only thing keeping him upright at the moment. He can feel his mouth quirking in an involuntary smile to match Shizuo’s, and he doesn’t even try to fight it.
“See? Alcohol is a drug—drugs do make it better,” Izaya says, smirking.
Shizuo shakes his head. “Nah,” he says, looking confident and stunning in the light from the moon filtering down into the alley. “Nah, it’s like this every time.”
