Summary
William La Fontaine hates the opera.
The music is fine, but the people are unbearable. All the backstabbing simpering society climbing omegas that look down at him for the – unwanted – attention he receives from the boorish, old money alphas, who look at him like he’s a piece of meat, caring only for his body and his last name.
Also, he might have just imprinted on some alpha doctor with a foreign accent and beautifully tempting monsters in his compelling dark eyes, whom his sister thinks has a ‘serial killer face.’
Will thinks it’s possible that she’s more right than she knows. It’s also possible that Will could care less.
Will is going to need something much stronger than this champagne.

“It’s not a real kid, Chase.”
Chase is technically underage, he’s a year away from being able to drink but the bartender didn’t bother to check his ID. Chase has always looked a little older than he was, it works in his favor now.
Nobody at a hero bar like this would assume he was so young.
“How the fuck do you think that?” Chase asks, spits. His hands still shake with the memory of it. The beer in his hand shakes with the tremors of his hands. “How the fuck do you do it?”
Mechaman sighs, deep, disappointed. He leans back, taking his whiskey with him.
The rest of the Brave Brigade was downstairs, drinking in victory, dancing with the other heroes, celebrating.

Jason Todd doesn't agree with this outcome and wishes for more time.
He wakes up, thirteen and earnest, in his childhood bedroom in Wayne Manor. Bruce is knocking at his door in an attempt to rouse him. Jason remembers this day. They're going to a Gotham Knights game later in the afternoon. Bruce's blood is still warm and criminal on his hands.
‘“Have you ever thought about that?” Jason murmurs. “Being rich in time?”
He feels Bruce’s fingers carding through his hair again. “It’s the most precious commodity of all. It’s priceless. It’s the one thing that I wish I had more of. You don’t have to worry about that, Jay. You’re fifteen. You have your whole life ahead of you.”’
