The broken analog clock on the wall reads nine-thirty in the morning. The only hand on the clock that still works is the minute hand, and Redd spent the morning of his fourth loop watching it until something happened. On the twenty-sixth and a half spin of the hand, a crack will sound from the opposite side of the subway station, where the exit to the boarded up station lies, and beyond that— the city of restless zombies.
Reddoons is stuck in a time loop. This in and of itself is well enough, but there's another problem: he's also stuck in the zombie apocalypse. Enter Zam and Ash, who are searching for a lost friend.

If there was one thing they kept consistent in those texts, it would be something along the lines of how dying is a mercy for systems like him—that there was nothing better to fix a broken system than with an end.
