He wants to be where ghosts won’t haunt the corners of his room, where the darkness won’t feel like Vox’s hands on him. He wants to be where the contract he has with Val won’t hang over his head like a guillotine.

Except none of it had ever been his, had it. He owned nothing in hell, not his body, not his soul, not even his mind.
Angel had nothing to lose, but maybe he had one more thing to give. Because what’s one more chain around your neck? When you have nothing to live for, no tomorrows, getting into a bigger mess can’t be that bad now, can it.
