“Don’t be,” Katsuki looks at him when he says it. “I’m having fun.” He gives Izuku a small, embarrassed smile.
“Aw Kacchan. I knew you meant it earlier,” Izuku teases, he just can’t resist. He takes the chance to lean into Katsuki's side. To his surprise, Katsuki wraps his arm around Izuku’s shoulders despite his embarrassment.
“Don't push it,” He tries to say gruffly. Izuku can see his amused smile though, right in the corner of his eye.
Or, Izuku has another nightmare and accidentally wakes Katsuki up. They have a deep conversation that ends up revealing each others insecurities, bringing them closer than ever before.

Some insecurity he ends up calling it– even though Bakugo Katsuki doesn't do insecurity. As a matter of fact, there's nothing abnormal or wrong about him. He's completely normal. He just… needs time. He’s just out of his depth.
Heat radiates off of his face in waves, and to anyone else it would just look like he's just incredibly flustered. But his chest is tight, heart racing in the no good way he hates.
Confusingly, sitting with Izuku feels good . It sets a pleasant fire at the base of his spine and it warms the inside of his chest. The idea that Izuku is enjoying this at least, practically dead weight against him, gives him a semblance of comfort.
But It all makes him squirm a little: the contrast, the push and pull of it all. All the while, his heart beats incessantly in his chest, in the bad way– or... is it the good way? Either way, it's undoubtedly making itself known in Izuku’s left ear: a misinterpretation.

“What are you apologizing for?” Shou’s gaze was suddenly so intense that Serizawa’s blood froze for a moment. Sometimes he looked so terribly like his father. But no, he wasn’t his father, Serizawa reminded himself. He was a child asking Serizawa a question, one that he deserved an answer to.
