Summary
Bruce and Clark used to date but Bruce broke it off (much to their joint pain and heartbreak) because he couldn't bear lying to Clark about his extra-curriculars, because it would put him In danger (and he can't do that coz he loves him too much), Superman is super sad for a while and the league notices. Due to plot armour, B never realises the correlation.
Fast Forward 6 months, Superman is back to his old self and is even laughing again. BUT WAIT! Where has he heard that laugh before? Realisation: He broke up with Superman
Now if you had common sense you would say "oh Batman! You and Clark are both superheroes in the justice league! there isn't anything keeping you apart anymore! just explain to him why you did it and apologise, and you will have a good shot of getting back with the guy you still very clearly love!".
Yeah when has Batman ever been smart when it comes to emotions. -
