“Yes, I have an idea. We’ll have need of sovereign blood for Father, and all the nations so revere the Divine Dragon. He’d make wonderful bait,” a wicked smile came to Veyle’s face. It was so different from the one Mauvier had first seen on her when she’d awoken. The carefree joy of a child with candy was terribly far from this sadistic glee.

Vander's steady grip on his teacup slips on the way to his mouth, sloshing near-boiling liquid all over the pristine tablecloth.
