Summary
The world is governed by subgenres. The alphas occupied important roles, the betas were simple workers and the omegas... They could stay at home and take care of their children. This did not change if you went from the Muggle world to the magical one, perhaps they were much more traditionalist than their counterparts. And Harry grows up in this world where being an Alpha is the best thing that can happen to you in life, while being an Omega is a blessing for your family line. But a beta? Better not to think about it.
Or…Harry is a beta, but because of his smell he is easily mistaken for an Alpha and that's okay, until Voldemort returns and finds himself having to face him face to face as 'a real alpha' ... Or so he says.

Tom Marvolo Riddle stared at the bundle in his arm and then back at the redhead kneeling in front of him. Months after they had last faced each other, Lilly Potter had shown up on his doorstep and handed him her son. One of the two possible children of the prophecy.
~17 years later~
“Did you make a friend, Nagini?”
Harry quickly turned and then froze in shock at the sight of the Dark Lord himself standing in the open glass door leading outside.
“Master!,” Nagini greeted happily and slithered closer to them. “This is Harry. He is a speaker.”
Dark red eyes, the color of rich wine, bore into Harry’s green ones and made Harry remember his manners.
“My Lord!”Or: Lilly gives up her son to the Dark Lord, Harry is raised by the Malfoy family and attends a ball at 17, only to meet the man of the hour by chance.
