Summary
Being set on fire is - god, he can't tell if it's better or worse if any of them are thinking about the fact that he burned alive just six years ago. He knows Derek must be thinking about it. That does make it both better and worse when his claws tear out Peter's throat, because it's a quick death (just like the one he gave Paige, he thinks), but it also means that Derek agrees that he deserves to die. Maybe even wants him to die, for what he did to Laura if nothing else.
It is a mercy that he doesn't have the time to contemplate it.
