    Charlie Spring doesn’t have time for frat boys. He especially doesn’t have time for Nick Nelson, who sits next to him in Environmental Science, lives across the hall, and seems to enjoy making Charlie’s life a living hell.

    It’s bad enough that Charlie keeps making questionable choices with Nick’s frat brother, but now he’s stuck being Nick’s lab partner for an entire term. Which means late-night arguments, and an increasing amount of Nick invading Charlie’s space, his thoughts, and—unfortunately—his sex life.

    Charlie is absolutely not into him. Nope. Not at all.

    “Pity fuck?” Charlie smirks over his tea.

    Nick shakes his head and digs into his own pastry. “Yes, that. You’ve been waiting all these years to meet someone who makes you feel safe and loved. And God, Charlie, you’re my best friend. Of course I want you to have that experience for your first time. So many people’s first times are utter shit. Mine was utter shit. I’d be an awful friend if I didn’t want you to have the best possible experience.”

    Charlie has no idea where he’s going with this.

    “So,” Nick says, a little nervous, “if you don’t want the first experience to be with me, then as your best friend, I feel it is my duty to help you find the person it will be with. If you want.”

    His best friends, Tara and Darcy, persuade him that the solution to his money worries is to rent out his spare room for 6 months. He just needs to find someone suitable.

    Charlie Spring, 22, is fed up of being walked all over by his (ex) boyfriend. He needs to move out of their shared flat ASAP if Ben is ever going to accept that they are over. He just needs to find somewhere affordable and, preferably, available immediately - not an easy feat in London. His sister suggests he should look slightly further afield. Kent sounds like a good option.
