Discipline wasn’t some sort of taboo subject in this world, it wasn’t something that was secret or confined to homes, it was woven into the fabrics of everyday life and was as ordinary as healthcare or education. Everyone was given a subgender when they turned 18, whether they were a dominant or submissive was coded in their DNA. Bang Chan and Lee Minho acknowledged that for whatever reason, sometimes a dominant couldn't give a submissive the discipline they deserved, which is why they started Haven Disciplinary Services.

"F-fuck." He groans out as the thumping drowns out any other noise that might have seeped through the walls. The pain is horrible, but it will pass. It always does. The tears begin to fall silently as he rocks back and forth in the bed, trying to dull it—help it.
Seungmin wasn't always like this. These constant drops didn't happen. He knows what could fix it. He knows that this pain is a choice that he willingly put himself into. It keeps him safe. It is his protection.
He was classified as a sub at the age of 20. Subs have a need to be put into a headspace, usually referred to as subspace, somewhat regularly to keep these drops from happening. To keep them healthy. Seungmin now chooses not to be put into subspace. Not anymore.
If he were allowing a dom to put him in subspace, he wouldn't have to deal with this pain, but this is pain he has control over. He is inflicting this on himself. He knows what to expect. He knows what it does to him. He would rather this control than that fear.

It’s quiet for a moment, and then the omega asks, “Your name is Felix?”
Felix freezes. He hasn’t given someone his real name in years, and he’s a little shocked it just slipped out. He lets out a breath, hesitates for a split second, and then very deliberately does not take it back.
Instead, he lets his head roll to his left and opens his eyes to look at the person next to him. The omega has uncurled from his tight ball of terror and is looking back at Felix with pretty chocolate brown eyes. He’s about Felix’s age, he can tell, and he’s honestly very cute. “Hi,” Felix says. “Nice to meet you.”
The omega takes in a shaky breath. “I’m Jeongin,” he offers, and bursts into tears.
Or: Felix has been living off the grid ever since he fled his abusive former alpha. When he finds a distressed omega in an alley, he has no idea that bringing Jeongin back to his pack will get him everything he would never have dared to dream of.

Summary
Minho has a pack now, and loves his pack. There is nothing he wouldn't do for them and the fact that he knows there is nothing they wouldn't do for him goes a long way. It's the life he's dreamed of having, the walls he spent building for so long simply tumbling down the moment he knew that masks were not required for unconditional love, to know that to seek out love was nothing short of human. Love itself is human. Love itself is not just the little glitter hearts he sees dazzling in displays of coffee shops around Valentine's but the messy paint that drips down the walls of rooms he's been held in, been heard in, been happy in. Love is a mess and Minho has gotten his hands dirty too many times to count, finger painting in expectations of what he had believed he should be.
But this love is a blank canvas, and there is nothing he needs to be except Him.
