Instead of entering through the door as he would usually do, Max opened the window and crashed into his room. Literally. Then he blacked out. The problem was, the noise of his body hitting the hard floor probably alerted his roommate.
He didn't even want to imagine what Oscar must have felt upon seeing Spider-Man, looking completely lifeless, in their apartment. Or worse, he didn't want to imagine what Oscar must have felt upon seeing Max, dressed as Spider-Man, looking completely lifeless, in their apartment.
Or, Oscar discovers Spider-Man's identity, and things more or less escalate from there.
