Summary
“You smell different,” Buck blurts out before his brain can catch up.
“What?” Eddie frowns. His cheeks darken, though, one of his biggest tells. Buck must be on to something, then.
Buck leans forward, inhaling deeply. Among the smell of their food, he recognises something that suddenly seems familiar. A rich scent, sandalwood and leather, but something citrusy in there as well. It’s warm and inviting, and it’s not Eddie’s usual scent at all.
“You're wearing cologne,” Buck says, still processing as he talks. “You’re- that’s your fancy stuff, isn’t it?”
or: when the two of them are having dinner, buck realises that eddie is wearing his date night cologne. for flufftober day 3, favourite scent!

Summary
Dustin cleared his throat, scratching at the back of his head with the hand that wasn’t currently in El’s grip. “I think I might know where Mike is.” Dustin said, voice low. Will took a step closer to hear him better. “I mostly pretend I.. don’t know he goes there. But before I tell you, there’s something else you need to know first.”
Will looked between Dustin and El, Dustin looking in dead in the face and El staring off slightly in the distance with an angry frown on her face. . “What is it?”

Summary
Will has felt this before. He’s felt it in basements and bike rides and hospital rooms. In late nights and shared looks and the way Mike always seemed to turn toward him, even when he didn’t mean to. He’d named it a long time ago, quietly, carefully, like you label a box you don’t plan to open. It fed everything else. The hope he’d already strangled. The recognition he’d buried. The longing. The wanting. The terrible, stupid belief that some things could be mutual without being spoken. That you could be seen without asking for it. That someone could know you and still stay. Understanding.
Maybe if he killed this one, the rest would finally starve.
or the finale rewritten because what the actual absolute fuck was that.

Summary
My skin is clean, Will tells himself, staring down his reflection as if it’s challenging him. I’m not possessed, I’m not in the Upside Down.
I’m a second-year student at the Art Institute of Chicago. My apartment is shitty and tiny and expensive and incredible. Will stabilizes himself by gripping the countertop, looping the words through his mind. Mike is in the other room, waiting for me. He’s an English major at Loyola, and his dad has no idea how he’ll land a job. He’s waiting for me. He loves me. He’s patient with me, and he understands. My brother lives in New York, and my mom’s safe at home in Indiana. My skin is clean, and all of this is real.
I disappeared seven years ago today, and I was found.
And he’s dead, and far away from me. He can’t touch me ever again.
