Summary
“Bad news,” Rozanov says, walking back into the bedroom. “I cannot leave. Weather is too bad.”
“The weather?” Shane says. It’s not that he expected Rozanov to stay but if he wanted to, then as far as excuses go, weather sounds like a weak one.
“There is a snow storm, Hollander,” Rozanov says. He spreads his hands wide. “I do not control the weather.”

Summary
Jack looks between them open-mouth, actually lost for words for the first time since Robby’s known him. Here, in front of him, Dr Robinavitch, senior emergency attending physician, chief attendant, twenty years in medicine. And there, standing awkwardly in front of the bedroom door, Dr Robinavitch, intern.
“Well,” Jack says. “I guess we’d call this a grade A clusterfuck.”

Summary
The first thing that Samira says to Abbot when she first sees him at the conference meet-and-greet drinks is, unfortunately, “Please be my boyfriend.”
To his credit, Abbot’s expression barely changes. He just watches her, like he’s waiting for the rest of it to make sense, which, fair.
“Please pretend to be my boyfriend,” Samira amends, very aware that she sounds like she’s about six years old and on a school playground.

“I’m not intimidated by you anymore,” Samira says. “That wore off about six months after the PittFest MCI so if that’s the vibe that you’re looking for-”
“It’s not,” Robby says hoarsely. “It’s really, really not.”
“We’re not at work now,” Samira says. “You are not my attending, and I don’t need to take notes.”
“I don’t know,” Jack says, from behind Robby. “There are a few things I think we could teach you.”

“I promise I’m not stalking you,” Samira says straight away, without even knowing she was going to.
Abbot raises his eyebrows and says, “I didn’t think you were, especially considering that we arrived after you both times.”
So he’d noticed, Samira thinks, and then tries to not think it.

Summary
Wyatt was not, like, nosy. For sure, he was interested. He was curious. He engaged with people, obviously, because most people were interesting and engaging and had cool thoughts and said neat stuff if you asked.
So, no. Wyatt wasn’t nosy, but he wasn’t stupid, either.

Summary
Shane Hollander is the number two overall NHL draft pick and a newly minted Montreal Voyageur. He’s also laser focused on his goals: being the best by beating the best. For him, this means a continued rivalry with number one draft pick—and new Ottawa Centaur—Ilya Rozanov. But when a problem with Rozanov’s immigration paperwork threatens his future in the NHL, what does that mean for Shane’s own career? He can’t risk finding out…so they get married. Just for immigration. A fast, practical, mutually beneficial solution.
No one will ever suspect, let alone find out, that the NHL’s greatest rivals are secretly married. And there’s certainly no risk of feelings getting involved. They have a game plan.

Summary
“Ilya?” Shane said in that same dreamy, loopy voice as that morning. Ilya exhaled in a rush.
“Shane,” he said, and wanted to sag against the glass with relief. “What happened? Is something wrong?”
“Not! Any moooooooore.”
Ilya swallowed. Shane hadn’t gotten any quieter in the past seven hours.
“Why are you calling me? You need to be resting,” he said, and it sounded softer than he’d meant it to.
“I forgot to tell you something. Important.”
“You should not be telling me anything, you should be—”
“My cottage has really good water pressure,” Shane announced.
Ilya stared out the window while a small plane taxied past.
“What?”
——————
Shane's cottage has a lot of amenities, and he needs to tell Ilya about all of them.
