The blonde, maybe brunet, raider with a large stick swung his weapon around, and pointed the sharp ends of the blades and spikes at Jabber.

Summary
Rin wonders if Sae had ever done this with the blond insect, for he's seen Isagi do it with Bachira and he's long associated Bachira as being Isagi’s dumb emotional support pet, and he's sure the demon was also considered to be a pet to Sae — he's overthinking things.
Nagi was more of a high maintenance plant, if anything. Rin's seen the guy with the Mikage. Nothing like the carefree, lowkey, easy to manage Bachira or Shidou. Rin finds that he doesn't care much.
Rin finds an uncanny companion in a high maintenance plant, and he finds that he begrudgingly doesn't mind that much.

Summary
He peers up to find a really, really round face and bright turquoise eyes staring at him. Those eyelashes were ridiculous, Seishiro thinks in the comfort of his mind. The boy? Girl? Besides the point. The point here is, their round eyes, round face and absolutely annoyingly long under lashes make for a really cute face, and Seishiro is oddly reminded of a kitten, like one he'd find while walking home, a small mew coming from the tall grass.
It's also the first time someone has ever started a conversation with him without immediate backing away when he looks at them.
“I'm Rin. Wanna play with me?” the kid holds out the football in their hand, and Seishiro blinks. He hadn't realised anyone would notice him, yet alone wanted to approach him and talk to him. Better yet, to want to include him in some game with them.

Hong Lu cracks open his eyes and clearly tries to look at Heathcliff, but his gaze is distant and unfocused. When he exhales, it's uneven and burbling. Blood in his lungs, Heathcliff realises with alarm.
"Heathcliff," a woman's voice says, and startled, Heathcliff looks up. A white haired woman stands on the other side of Hong Lu. She looks down at them dispassionately. Something about her tickles a hazy memory, but Heathcliff doesn't know her. "Your emotional state is preventing the Mirror overlay from separating properly. You need to calm down."
Heathcliff doesn't know what that means, and he doesn't care. Doesn't she see that Hong Lu is dying? "I need to help him," he insists.
