“Oh…” The boy’s voice trails off. “Sorry. It’s just…the heat sometimes…” Annabeth rolls her eyes, still annoyed at his presence.
“Whatever. You drool in your sleep,” she responds, walking off and leaving the blushing prince behind her.

Annabeth is seven when she learns that one day she will have to be married. Despite resolving to hate him, she finds that Percy is rather impossible to hate, and instead grows to like him. A lot. As a friend, though. Duh. Of course, this is not the end. She’d never really expected it to be: after all, the universe never has been fond of making love simple.
